Scott Busby

Legion Mediation fully respects and appreciates the one common goal for all involved in even the most contentious and bitter disputes.

It can easily be summed up with one word:  Justice.

Irrespective of how each individual involved in any dispute defines the word for them, a JUST resolution is the ultimate endstate.

Legion seeks to provide only those neutrals most interested in meeting that common goal. Rest assured, Legion Neutral Scott Busby seeks nothing more than to provide a JUST resolution.

Scott has dedicated his 32-year career to resolving complex litigation matters. Scott is admitted to the Georgia and Florida Bars and appears in district and appellate federal courts throughout the country, including the U.S. Supreme Court. He has been recognized by his peers as a SuperLawyer for the last decade and has held the highest rating given by Martindale-Hubbell’s listing of attorneys for over 20 years.

His peers will tell you his approach to the practice of law gives him the right balance of cooperation and advocacy that provide the makings of an extremely effective neutral.

EXPERIENCE

Scott has extensive experience in litigation involving both sides of personal injury, insurance, construction, trucking, employment matters and a variety of other areas. He is knowledgeable about local and state government matters and represents local governments in many contexts. Most of all, Scott believes in handling all matters in a JUST manner, vigorously representing his many varied clients. Indeed, a JUST outcome is the key to a successful resolution.

EDUCATION

Legion recruited Scott not only for his legal acumen, but his vast business knowledge. In addition to his law degree from Emory University, Scott earned an M.B.A. from Georgia State University with a concentration in finance. Scott completed his undergraduate degree at Asbury University and was recognized by his peers for his leadership virtues by contemporaneously serving as the Student Body President.

PERSONAL

Scott is an Atlanta native where he attended The Westminster Schools. Scott and Dawn, his wife over 30 years, raised three children. Dawn, also a graduate of Emory’s law school, works with Scott’s firm: Busby Negin, as well. Admirably, Scott also worked as an accountant at The Salvation Army’s Southern Territorial Headquarters during his 5 years of graduate studies. Interestingly, both of Scott’s parents retired after 40 years as The Salvation Army officers. They completed their careers as the National Commanders for The Salvation Army USA. Their legacy left at such a fine charitable organization has made Scott so very proud.

From the mild to the bitter, all disputing parties simply want justice. Scott Busby is ready, willing, and able to provide a JUST resolution.
