Wayne Toth

Balance. Like all organizations, Legion seeks to offer only the best in the Neutrals we have. In simple terms, the “best” means those Neutrals with admirable credentials, meaningful experience, and impeccable integrity to assist parties in reaching a resolution. In the simplest of terms, the “best” may be summed up in the single word “balance.” While it may be the simplest summation, in the dispute resolution world, “balance” has a significant meaning. Wayne Toth has balance.

For more than 20 years, Wayne has practiced law in a wide array of disciplines. Yet, it is his history of working for both the Plaintiff and the Defense that provides the much needed balance to find a resolution. In his storied history, as a litigator, Wayne defended auto insurance companies, trucking companies and their insurers. Wayne then largely moved on to defending doctors, nurses, hospitals, and nursing homes. After a decade of defense work, Wayne turned to exclusively representing patients and their families in medical and nursing home malpractice cases, negligent security cases and auto cases. Importantly, Wayne has the experience of leading his clients through the arduous and stressful aspects of jury trials in venues throughout Georgia. Without question, trial experience on both sides of the “v” provides the necessary mental balance to appreciate all aspects of a dispute, and facilitate resolution.

EXPERIENCE

Unquestionably, the right balance must include real-world, non-legal experience. Not only did Wayne spend 10 years in the chemical and hazardous waste industries prior to becoming a lawyer, he was actually a Commercial Driver’s License qualified truck driver for a hazardous waste removal company. Wayne then moved on to becoming a contractor for the National Institutes of Health, an Operations Manager for a chemical distribution plant, and a Regional Environmental Manager, allowing him to travel the Southeastern US and Puerto Rico conducting facility safety audits, before moving into sales. Then, after a decade of getting his hands dirty, Wayne’s pursuit of life balance pushed him to seek a change.

Legion is honored to offer Wayne’s skills stemming from putting to use his vast practical experience, coupled with his legal experience flowing from his juris doctorate from Georgia State University College of Law in 2001. Legion is also very pleased to showcase Wayne’s business experience: a BS in Chemistry obtained in 1988 from the University of Pittsburgh, and an MBA obtained in 1997 from Georgia State’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Not unexpectedly, Wayne’s formal education continues to reflect a life of remarkable balance.

ACHIEVEMENTS

For 2020 – 2023, as one of the top 5% of attorneys in Georgia, Wayne was selected as a Georgia Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers and Atlanta Magazine. In 2010 and 2011, as one of the top 2.5% of attorneys in Georgia, he was selected as a Rising Star. Not surprisingly, since 2014, Wayne has been peer rated by AV Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell, which signifies the highest level of professional excellence.

Wayne has been a Georgia licensed neutral since 2015, and he has represented clients in hundreds of mediations. Most assuredly, Wayne can bring his balanced approached to any dispute affording all parties the opportunity to put their claims behind them, and in some way, return to a life of balance.
